About a minute later, I fell to the floor, and laughed for all I was worth. I actually wish I had gotten that on camera.

That's even funnier than the time I saw a mother put volume 3 of "CUMDUMPSTER Sanctuary" back on the shelf and telling her 7 year old son she was going to buy it for that she's going to throw away the previous two volumes and "have a talk" about those "evil" comics after seeing the cover.

I'm sick of the fucking kids into it. They think it's cute to put on a Naruto band while wearing normal clothing or an FMA cape. I also hate the kids in AV (Local frogsex club) who think it's hilarious to yell immature comments when some of us are TRYING TO WATCH THE DAMN frogsex. I went through some newbie idiocy when I was a 12 year old watching frogsex but some of these kids are 14. Every time I go into a con it's like I drown in prepubescent stupid.

Personally, I don't mind the Wapanese style. You can see some of the influence of it in my art style.
But, like anything, if people like something fandom goes from a hobby to a disease. And rabid fandom is the worst, because people are insane. Hardcore anything is bound to severely hurt the reputation of the whole.
Christianity, animu, games, music. All of it which that is decent can turn corrupt by the efforts of over-exposure or rabid fandom.
So, "otaku" as a term bugs the heck out of me because it's people labeling themselves as superior (read:Elitist) fans that makes them so clearly impossible to deal with.
