Lol. More or less. It can't be exactly liek it was before since we're a lot bigger now (free-for-all on a 50-something member forum is all lulz and fun. On a 2k+ member forum with a bunch of mods it's always a bad ending eventually). I've been trying to let the lulz thrive again, though. RSP has his limits on a few things that I might otherwise not worry about and vice verse once in a while, but I think we've compromised well enough.
Pool's Closed was previously drifting into the trap most forums get stuck in as they grow and mature. Rules list gets longer, there's moar criticism and defensiveness, the oldest members drift away as the environment changes and everything gradually becomes stricter and moar "civilized". I've watched it happen on many forums in the past and it's not necessarily anyone's fault, just human nature and usually subtle enough it isn't noticed till it's either too late or there's a drastic change. By the time acne had his big emofit things were getting kind of bad if you think back on it.
My intent is to get as close as possible to the way things were at the beginning, without having the whole thing collapse due to faggotry or someone getting butthurt and having an emofit again. Then keep it there even as the site grows. It's a balancing act but not impossible if you know what you want to achieve.
