There's a theory going about right now.

During shooting, it was known that Heath got very deep into the Joker. This isn't the batshit insane Joker you saw on the cartoon or as Jack Nicholson, this is the completely depraved, psychotic, mind fucked Joker.

Due to this deep method acting, he actually lost sleep and started to take sleeping pills, yet he still couldn't. He was kept awake by this Joker character.

Regardless, this may prove the Joker to be the greatest fucking villain ever.
