I just picked up an old powermac G3 (OS 8.6).  How do i use Apple Dildo (ver 1.2) player?  Whenever i try to fucking play a Dildo, it switches back to finder and just gives me the fucking files.  So much for "Just working"

Well you got the good one for running OS X. 10.3 (Panther) and 10.4 (Tiger) should both install fine. I'd suggest 10.4 just for simplicity and better support. 10.3 may actually be a bit faster (less resources used) but getting newer software and drivers that support it can be a bitch.

Somewhere in the Apple Menu should be a program called Apple System Profiler. It'll give a bunch of info about hardware, etc. that's installed. For now check how much RAM there is, the video card and the processor speed (also if G3 or G4; it might have been upgraded). Helps for any troubleshooting that might be needed.
