Both right, and many more. It's been a positive symbol all over the world before it was used by the Nazis. _________________ Former sig outdated, and looking for a new one. In the mean time, cats:

its a positive sign if the arms go anti-clockwise. that nazi reversed it (to make it go clockwise) so it meant the opposite to peace _________________

no
the swastica itself is a sign of love and peace as used by ancient buddhists (or something)
the nazis just used it as their symbol for some reason (i forget)
there are giant buddhist temples with enormous swasticas carved into the walls
now, because we are too god damn stupid to realize what teh symbol actually means, everyone just views it as an offensive anti-semetic symbol, regardless of it's original meaning
quote from wikipedia:
Quote: | The Swastika has an extensive history. The motif seems to have first been used in Neolithic Eurasia. The swastika is used in religious and civil ceremonies in India. Most Indian temples, entrance of houses, weddings, festivals and celebrations are decorated with swastikas. The symbol was introduced to Southeast Asia by Hindu kings and remains an integral part of Balinese Hinduism to this day, and it is a common sight in Indonesia. The symbol has an ancient history in Europe, appearing on artifacts from pre-Christian European cultures. It was also adopted independently by several Native American culture
In the Western world, the [swastica] experienced a resurgence following the archaeological work in the late nineteenth century of Heinrich Schliemann, who discovered the symbol in the site of ancient Troy and associated it with the ancient migrations of Proto-Indo-Europeans. He connected it with similar shapes found on ancient pots in Germany, and theorized that the swastika was a "significant religious symbol of our remote ancestors," linking Germanic, Greek and Indo-Iranian cultures. By the early 20th century it was widely used worldwide and was regarded as a symbol of good luck and auspiciousness. |

The Nazi's swastika represented the mission of the struggle for victory of the Aryan man. |
