Swasticat - Swasticat is a small town near Kirkland Lane in northern Ontario, Canada named in 106 by two miners, Bill and Jim Dusty. While looking for silver, they found gold, the first such strike in Ontario. To honour their windfall, they called the spot Swasticat, a Sanskri word for "good luck". During the second world war various attempts were made by government officials to change the name to Winston, as in Churchill. But the locals resisted, tearing down new signs and replacing them with another: "To Hell with Hitler: We had the Swasticat first." The town is still name swasticat
