What, do I use a torrent? I haven't really looked into it; I figured with online shit since you usually have to have a unique key to create an account piracy was kind of not an option.
I would really like to play it again though. I miss that game.
[edit] I just found a torrent for CS Source that doesn't require all of the Steam bullshit. I guess I learned my lesson about paying for games. Sadly, there's better to be had for free. [/edit] |
when you buy a game from a store, it gives you your steam key. ?if you have to reformat, you just go and download steam from steampowered.com, (it's a free download, but you have to log in with your valid steam account) and log back in with your info, then reinstall it via steam.
but yeah have fun playing your cracked copy of CSS. I'm sure you'll enjoy how every server is just a place for people to test out their new hacks. "better to be had for free" <-- youre in for a very unpleasant surprise

I HAD A VALID COPY OF DOD. I tried reinstalling it later and I couldn't use my key or remember my old account (my guess is I used an email account from old ISP I could no longer access).
I tried installing CS:S without Steam just to dick around with it. I assumed 4chan wouldn't be on a Steam server, because I thought they would be cooler than that. As usual, that was a bad assumption.
At this point I quit bothering, because, as mentioned, I really fucking hate Steam (so no, I probably haven't become really familiar with its inner workings), and don't want to have to deal with it as I would need to with a legal copy of the game.
