Anyone know how to optimize my CPU/RAM usage? Vista eats a lot of it and I intend to download games.

My specs are:

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ 2.6 Ghz
3 GB of RAM
Nvidia Geforce 7900 GS graphics

Do a clean install via formating with the Vista disk that came with your comp, then after it's done, go in and disable anything you aren't going to be using (Windows Defender and Firewall must be raep'd. Period.)

Afterward, check your running processes. If it's running and you don't know what it is, find out or stop it. Rinse repeat until RAM is maximized.

Then launch game. Play until content.

TL;DR
1> Format, clean install
2> Disable lame Windows Firewall and Defender
3> Close all processes you aren't using
4>Launch game
5> ???
6> Profit!
